While running a silver nanosphere with 40 nm Diameter (20 nm radius) I noticed that the scattering efficiency is much larger than the absorption efficiency. Which in contradiction with the following reference (see Fig. 1a)

    The answer found using this tool is in good agreement with another simulation tool at the nano hub (Nanosphere Optics Lab). Both tools are using Mie theory to simulate the extinction spectrum. For large particles R < 20-30 nm I would expect scattering to be larger than absorption. I have no good explanation for why the reference you cite show a larger absorption than scattering.
