Nanosphere optics field lab/change surrounding media

Hello
In the tool "Nanosphere optics lab field simulator" I would like to change the value of surrounding media dielectric constant.
It offers 3 choices by default- air, water and vacuum.
Now if my media is none of these, can i just type in the number for dielectric constant of my media and obtain a valid result?
Regards
Neel
