Hi, hanks for using Quantum Dot Lab. The tool currently does not allow you to specify the surrounding material. You can request this feature at the tool wishlist:
https://nanohub.org/resources/450/wishlist Everyone using nanoHUB can see this wishlist and vote on the feature. If the developers see strong desire from the community, they can add this feature to the tool.
