• Biography

  Xingjie Ni received a BS degree in engineering physics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2005, and a MS degree in automation from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2007. He is currently working as a Research Assistant towards his Ph.D. degree in Prof. Vladimir M. Shalaev’s group at the Birck Nanotechnology Center, in electrical and computer engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Simultaneously He is also working towards his MS degree in computer science under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Sameh at Purdue. His current research interests include modeling, nano-faberication, and characterization of metamatertials, nanophotonics, transformation optics devices, and computational electromagnetics. I am a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA). He is the founder and the president of the OSA Purdue University Student Chapter.
