Dr. Zsolt Illyefalvi-Vitéz received his diploma in electronic engineering and his dr. techn. degree from BME, the Technical University of Budapest, Hungary, in 1965 and 1974, respectively, and the "Candidate of Technical Science" degree (PhD) from the Hungarian Academy of Science, in 1981. He has been working at the Department of Electronics Technology as Associate Professor, and he was the Head of the Department between 1995 and 2003. The focus of his research activity has been on microelectronics manufacturing with the main interest in laser beam processing, trimming, and the design of microelectronics components and circuit modules. In the field of education he has been responsible for teaching of topics on microelectronics, packaging, components and manufacturing technology. He is member of the IEEE (CPMT and ED), IMAPS, the Steering Committee of ISSE (chairman between 1996 and 2002), and other national/international scientific societies and bodies.
