Biography

Dr. R. Nagaraj has been working on various aspects of ion channels, sorting of proteins in cells, host-defense peptides and peptide/protein self-association. His research career spans 32 years. He obtained his PhD at the Molecular Biophysics Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1980 and has been carrying out research and teaching at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology since then. One of the current areas of research is directed towards understanding the biophysical properties governing the self-association of peptides and proteins. He has a US patent and has published extensively in the areas indicated above. He has been invited to speak at several national meetings.
