I graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with a BS in Physics in 1992. I did my MQP (thesis), "Self-Consistent Calculation of Electron Energy Levels in Quantum Heterostructures", under L.R.Ram-Mohan. We used a FEM solution, iteratively solving Schrodinger & Poisson's equations to convergence. I expected to become a practicing physicist, but ended up diverting into industry, where I became a software engineer. In 2008, I realized how much excellent university content was becoming available for free online and began a self-educational overhaul program. I have focused primarily on biology, brain and cognitive science, physics, and nanotechnology. I live and work in Dallas, Texas.
