  • Biography

    Dr. Alexander Kildishev is an Associate Research Professor at the Birck Nanotechnology Center, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University. He leads the development of simulation strategies, methods, and software tools for applied electromagnetics and multiphysics simulations in the area of nanoplasmonic devices and optical metamaterials, MRI safety and magnetic silencing. Before joining Purdue, he was working as the Head of Laboratory at the Magnetism Division of the National Academy of Sciences in the Ukraine. Currently, his research interests are in the modeling of nanophotonics devices, optical metamaterials and transformation optics. Dr. Kildishev’s publications include 5 book chapters, more than 100 publications in peer reviewed journals, with above 4000 citations; more than 90 invited seminar talks and conferences presentations, 10 issued and pending patents (4 US patents), 7 software online simulation tools freely available at nanoHUB.org. He is a Senior member of SPIE and IEEE (IEEE Photonics and Magnetic Societies), and a member of OSA, SIAM, ACES, and COMPUMAG.
