  • Biography

    Xinyan Deng received her bachelor’s degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Tianjin University and received her PhD degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to joining Purdue, she worked in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware as an assistant professor. Her research interest is in the principles of aerial and aquatic locomotion in animals and the development of bio-inspired robotic systems such as robotic insects and fish. She received an NSF Career Award in 2006.
