imageChristopher T. Walsh is the Hamilton Kuhn Professor of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School. His main areas of research are enzymes; suicide substrates; siderophores; and the biosynthesis of natural products. Prof. Walsh received his A.B. in biology from Harvard University in 1965, followed by a Ph.D. in life sciences from Rockefeller University. He is the author of over 650 publications. He has also received numerous awards, such as: the Eli Lilly Award in Biochemistry, the Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award in Organic Chemistry, the Repligen Award in Biological Chemistry, the Alfred Bader Award in Bioorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry, and the Promega Biotechnology Research Award from the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
