Abstract

The Network for Computational Nanotechnology (NCN) held a workshop entitled Challenges and Opportunities in the Development of Nanoelectromechanical Systems on April, 8, 2005. The workshop was held at the Entrepreneurship Center at Purdue University and featured presentations and discussion on current efforts to understand nanoscale phenomena that are expected to be important in the development of NEMS devices. The goals of the workshop was to bring together experimental and computational experts in the areas of nanofluidics, nanoelectronics, and thermal transport in nanoscale systems to present the results of their work, explore collaborative opportunities, and discuss strategies for developing NEMS devices.
