Abstract

Biophotonics Summer School 2012

Monday, May 21, 2012 – Friday, June 01, 2012
The Biophotonics Summer School brings together from a wide variety of disciplines to teach students about the biophotonics field. In 2012, some of the topics covered included principles of biophotonics, technology and methods of investigation. The latest research developments are also covered, including: biomolecular sensing, nanoprobes, nonlinear microscopy, nanoscopy, and nanoplasmonics. The summer school brought together students from across the world and from a multitude of backgrounds.

Bio

Yi Lu received his B.S. from Beijing University, P. R. China in 1986 and his Ph.D. from University of California, Los Angeles in 1992. After two years of postdoctoral research at California Institute of Technology, he joined the faculty at Illinois in 1994. Professor Yi Lu's research interests are in bioinorganic chemistry.
