Abstract

A neuron receives many inputs using its dendrites. Dendrites do not merely collect the synaptic inputs to a neuron but are capable of complex forms of input processing known as synaptic integration. For simplicity, we will use our neural units to approximate dendritic processing simply by computing the weighted sum of their inputs.
