Abstract

This is the fifth contribution from the students in the University of Texas at El Paso Molecular Electronics course given in the fall of 2006.

This introduces nanothermodynamics, the study of small system equilibrium. Nanothermodynamics was established in the early 60’s, but has recently been rediscovered with the advent of nanoscience.

The author, John Enriquez, has listed thermodynamic data for compounds commonly mentioned in nanoHUB research presentations.

Bio

My name is John Enriquez and currently, I am a graduate student in the Chemistry Masters Degree Program at University of Texas at El Paso. My research advisor is Dr. Michael I. Davis, professor of chemistry, and my project is the investigation of thermodynamic properties of various aqueous amphiphilic solutions. I received my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at UTEP in May 2003.
