Abstract

The applications of developments in uncertainty quantification for materials science and engineering are diverse and plentiful. There are opportunities in each stage of a materials' lifetime from discovery to manufacturing and processing to sustainment. These problem spaces span each material length scale and the connections between them. Each material class and application have unique challenges that require new developments and applications of uncertainty quantification techniques. A summary of a few exciting problem spaces will be given to demonstrate the breadth of pertinent uncertainty quantification problems to materials and manufacturing.
