Abstract

*** This OOMMF FTUG updated on 5/25/2020 to include information about the newly included text editor and accessing files using sftp ***

OOMMF is the Object Oriented MicroMagnetic Framework, which is a powerful research-grade simulation tool for modeling the response of materials to applied magnetic fields that was developed by Dr.s Mike Donahue and Don Porter in the Information Technology Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).  This first-time user guide demonstrates how to download, read and run an OOMMF example problem file in OOMMF running on nanoHUB, and is written for the first-time OOMMF user.  No software installation or local computational power is required.  If you have a computer, tablet or other device that is equipped with a web browser and a connection to the Internet, you can run OOMMF on nanoHUB. Experienced OOMMF users should find all of the functionality they are accustomed to.

There is an OOMMF users group on nanoHUB.  Please join to discuss micromagnetics simulations and share MIF files.
