| Abstract | Nanoparticles hold great promise for drug delivery applications. Nanoparticles might prove to be the only way to bring water insoluble, chemically unstable drugs to market. Because of this, this seminar will summarize the use of polymers to prepare and/or coat nanoparticles. Preliminary studies from our laboratories on: (1) the anti-estrogen letrozole; and (2) the development of the X-ray based PDF (pair distribution function) method for analyzing nanoparticles and nanocrystals. In summary, the concept that nanocrystals can be synthesized will be presented.
