Abstract

Nanowire is a simulation tool for of silicon nanowire FET's in the nanometer regime (diameter <= 5 nm) where quantum effects are imporant and (channel length <= 10 nm ) where transport is mostly ballistic in nature.

The first time user guide walks you through the working of the tool and the options available are elucidated. After going through this guide one must be able to understand the basic working of nanowire and must be able to play with the code using different parameter sets. Some examples are inbuilt in the tool which are helpful in gaining a further insight.

The user guide will tell you about all the simulations a parameters available and some of the physics involved with it. It is assumed that the intended user is familiar with the basic knowledge of Non-Equilibrium Greens Function approach (NEGF). The 659 series of lectures on Quantum Transport would be a good source to understand the same

The guide will be helpful to anyone interested in using 'Nanowire' for educational or research purpose.
