Abstract
Two studies published in the Journal of Toxicological Sciences and Nature Nanotechnology in 2008 have demonstrated that some multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT or MWNT) can induce in mice a response similar to that induced by certain asbestos fibers. At a first glance, certain MWCNT and asbestos fibers have one major thing in common, their needle-like shape. This animation demonstrates the different effects on mice of long, straight MWCNTs and short, tangled MWCNTs
