Abstract

A polymer brush is a layer of polymers attached by one of their ends to a surfaces. This tool calculates structural properties of polymer brushes using a molecular theory. The theory is based on a free energy functional that represents, in an exact way, all the internal degrees of freedom of a single molecule, while the intermolecular interactions are accounted for within a mean field approximation. The tool allows the user to decide the geometry of the surface, the length of the polymer molecules, the grafting density, and details of the numerical solution.
