If a binary runs for a very long time (such as hours or days), users might want to see preliminary data in order to check wether the job does make sense at all. This is essential to judge whether iterative solver approach convergency.

    providing user feedback and intermediate results is a critical element of a scientific application. Decisions can be made as to stopping the simulation or stop/restart etc. Ths may be particularly hard to implement when stuff runs remotely, but still this is in my opinion a critical element for rappture developments
