Contour plots
One thing I think would be really useful and used often is to have a matlab-style contour plot widget producing images such as in
http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?arnumber=05091112
(as an example). I tried to do it with the cloud widget, but it breaks down when I feed in a 300x70 matrix. Also, the cloud widget doesn't display axis.

We have had similar discussions and there may actually be another wish open on getting a full contour plot capability into Rappture. It can be tacklesd a little bit with unidirect data style, but this creates a 3D surface on a 2D data set. We need to get the flat contour.
