Polarisation in plane of incident light?

Hi there,

I am trying to excite modes on a NR. Is there a way to have polarisation and incident light in the same direction? Both Blendr and default settings only allow orthogonal polarised light directions.

Since the polarization vector is always in the plane orthogonal to the incident direction (for electromagnetic radiation), this is the only setting that nanoDDSCAT allows.

You can easily excite both long-axis and short-axis modes of a nanorod by allowing the beam to be incident on the cylindrical side on  the nanorod and set the polarization vector to be vertical and horizontal.

    Best wishes,

    Prashant
