Quantum dots

What I want to do is building an aluminum quantum dot coupled to aluminum leads to observe Coulomb Blockade. To form the tunnel barriers we oxidize the Al in a plasma without any detailed knowledge of the oxide we get. The idea is to later couple the dot to ferromagnetic leads and investigate spin transport characteristics. I would love to see how well my results will fit to a model using the NEFG.

    For Coulomb blockade I would not recommend NEGF .. instead I would recommend a different approach .. please see Lecture#4 at http://www.nanohub.org/courses/cqt
