How extensively have nanoparticles been tested in the field of solar cells?

I have seen research that has included silver nanoparticles placed in the wafers of Si. I’ve also seen GaN and GaAs mentioned in nanoparticle study, but havn’t seen the acual papers.

I was wondering if anyone knew particular research about including nanoparticles with these semiconductors or what other semiconductors that havn’t been researched with nanoparticle enhancements?

Thanks, Zach

    Hi,

The stuff that you are looking is regarding plasmonics.

The following paper details experimental results of the plasmonic enhancement of solar cells: http://etylab.ece.utexas.edu/pdfpubs/apl_feb05.pdf
