Alignment of molecules in the formation of heterojunction.

When we attach 2 dissimilar molecules that have different Fermi levels, Say, a molecule with a single electron group associated with it at a fermi level Fn, and another with an accepting group, Fp as fermi level. In a molecule we know that the fermi level’s position depends on the HOMO and LUMO. How will the alignment of these HOMO and LUMO change? will it be similar to that in conventional semiconductors? how will this affect the mobility of such a transistor? will the formation of a 2DEG at the molecular junction point affect the conductance oscillations, if any?
