OOMMF Tutorial Page at NIST

Session 1 (21-May-2020)

The video and slides of the first tutorial session have been posted at www.spintalks.org/tutorials and at https://math.nist.gov/oommf/oommf_tutorial/tutorial.html.

In addition to what is covered in the slides, the video shows how to run OOMMF on www.nanohub.org and how to install it on Windows and MacOS. Dr. Donahue also answers a number of questions from the audience.

 Homework assignment

(1) Gain access to OOMMF either through nanoHUB or by installing it on your own machine (see the video for demonstrations).

(2) Find the Quick Start section of the OOMMF User's Guide (the OUG) and work through steps 1, 2, 3b, and 4.

(3) Explore some of the sample simulations (under examples/oxs/ on nanoHUB, or oommf/app/oxs/examples/ for local installs).
