My research interest is in the development of distributed feedback laser (DFB) biosensors and Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). My objective is to enhance the light extinction and make it reliable for clinical applications.
The current project I am working on is to integrate biosensors into flexible plastic catheter tubing for detecting drugs, metabolites, and pathogens in intensive care patients. The use of such sensors will enable intelligent systems that can reduce medical errors and provide timely and accurate information on a patients' status.
