Abstract

The MIF generator for OOMMF allows users to enter parameters for their model system, such as the materials, their dimensions and the applied magnetic fields, and outputs a memory initialization file (MIF) which can be directly loaded into OOMMF for micromagnetic simulations. The MIF generator is composed of five parts, which are based on the structure of the OOMMF simulation. These are dimension, mesh, energy, evolver, and driver.

The user needs to download the output MIF file onto their local computer and then upload this file into the OOMMF simulation tool, which can be found on nanoHUB at: www.nanohub.org/tools/oommf.  The OOMMF Oxsii 3D simulation tool takes a MIF as the input and outputs various forms of datatypes, including data tables and graphs.
