    I explored the SCHRED tool since we did a similar project. The simulator is a self consistent Poisson 1-D Schroedinger solver.

    The tool is poweful and has numerous advantages :

    * Use of different structures and materials: single // double gate , metal // polysilicon gate , Si // GaAs // InAs , 100 // 110 // 111

    * Number of subbands

    However I think there are some points that can be improved :

    * The source code is available in FORTRAN language but comments are sparse.

    * It is hard to compare results for different parameters. So I copied data in Excel or matlab and plotted it.

    It is very nice that Schred gives a possibility to compare semiclassical and quantum simulations.
