new content subscriptions
It would be nice to get weekly updates on
- all new content or
- content in certain areas that we subscribe to, like YouTube.
I get YouTube updates with new nanoHUB content and it makes the site feel alive. I don't have to go to YouTube to see what is new, and I can click on the links in my email to get to YouTube, and then see even more. It potentially pulls me in for a bit each week and keeps me engaged.

Email updates of the upcoming calendar events would also be a nice option. Especially for people who don't stop by the home page and do everything from their personal page, this would alert them to fresh content and activities.
