Barrier constitution in QDLab

Dear Sirs, First of all, I manifest my satisfaction with respect to the free access to nanoHUB and the Quahtum Dot Lab, which undoubtedly represent important computational resources for researchers and students over the world. I come to suggest an implementation on QDLab. This refers to the specification of a host material for the quantum dot. For example, QDLab can deals with InAs quantum dots, but it could consider that they are imersed on GaAs. Thank you very much

    Thank you very much for your note. NEMO3D which powers quantum dot lab certainly can handle the suggested material system. The computational requirements are much more intense for a full band calculation that includes strain. NEMO3D can be downloaded at: http://nanohub.org/resources/6129

    Nevertheless we are indeed working on having this capability inside quantum dot lab. It will still take some time to make the tool very user friendly.

    NEMO3D the code that powers qdot was always geared towards atomistic tight binding and the effective mass model in NEMO3D was always just a prototype. We are about to release a new version that uses our new NEMO5 code. Now in the more general NEMO5 code this should be much more easily possible.
