• Biography

  Professor Ruan received his B.S. and M.S. in Engineering Thermophysics from Tsinghua University in 2000 and 2002, respectively. He received another M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2006 and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He then joined Purdue as an assistant professor. His research interests include nanoscale heat transfer and energy conversion, multiscale multiphysics simulations of nanomaterials for energy applications, photovoltaic nanomaterials, thermoelectric nanomaterials, and nanoscale thermal radiation and nano-photonics.
