Biography
Shehrin Sayed is a design engineer at TDK Headway Technologies, Inc. in Milpitas, CA. He is currently working on state-of-the-art magnetic recording technologies with the goal of enhancing the areal density capacity in storage devices. He was a postdoctoral scholar at EECS, UC Berkeley, and the Materials Science Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, from 2018 to 2022. His research focused on quantum devices and integrated nano-magnetics for nonvolatile memory and energy harvesting applications. He received Ph.D. in 2018 and an M.Sc. in 2013 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. His Ph.D. research focused on a theoretical understanding of spin-orbit torque materials for efficient magnetoresistive random access memory applications. He also co-developed a SPICE circuit simulation library for spintronic devices. His Ph.D. dissertation received the 2018 prize in Physics, awarded by the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation, characterized by its high potential for practical application.
