Description:

The Foundations of Vacuum Science course (VACT 1010) offered at Normandale Community College (Bloomington, MN) is the first course in Normandale's Vacuum Technology Certificate program of study.  An 8-week section of this course delivered in a fully online format is being offered summer 2023.  This course addresses basic principles of chemistry, math and physics which are applied to the understanding of concepts needed to continue in subsequent vacuum technology courses. Topics include atomic structure, states of matter, compounds, behavior of gases, scientific measurement and calculations, intermolecular forces, and Ohm's Law.  Contact Kim Klein (Kimberly.Klein@normandale.edu) for support with the course registration process.

Normandale's Vacuum and Thin Film Technology program prepares individuals to support vacuum equipment in roles as technicians in industry and research.
