Gregor Kovacic received his undergraduate degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1985, and his PhD in Applied Mathematics from California Institute of Technology in 1990. He was employed by the Los Alamos National Laboratory between 1989 and 1991, and has been with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute since then, currently as a Professor. Gregor received Prešeren's Student Prize in Slovenia in 1985, Director's Funded Postdoctoral Postdoctoral Fellowship in 1989, NSF CAREER award in 1995, and Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship in 1996.
