  Dr. Tomekia Simeon is a passionate Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Dillard University, as well as a K-12 and higher education STEM advocate. Tomekia received her PhD from Jackson State University in Physical Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Jerzy Leszczynski.
  Afterwards, she joined the groups of Profs. Mark Ratner and George Schatz at Northwestern University as a postdoctoral fellow. Her research involves using computational chemistry and theoretical methods to study the chemical and electronic properties of rare earth metals and ionic
