I am a Material’s Engineering Graduate with research emphasis on Biomaterials for Scaffolds. I am interested in hierarchical structures attained by composite materials, biomaterials to support cellular replacement providing the necessary structural & biocompatible support and help to propagate artificial cellular regeneration. Further, during my subsequent research I was introduced to porous materials serving as templates for drug delivery systems, particularly mesoporous materials for diffusion controlled localized drug delivery systems and pre organized micro patterned templates. I have read up on these informally, and I expect to be formally introduced to their synthesis and characterization during my research. During my Senior Design Project I worked with Hydroxyl apatite [HAP] in particulate morphology and I am interested to figure out artificial HAP growth through mineralization to favor satisfactory growth, when implanted, of human osteoblast.
