Abstract

Microelectromechcanical Systems (MEMS) rotate the screens on your smartphones, trigger airbags in a car crash, and beat the hearts of patients with serious heart problems.  In this learning module you are introduced to some of the many applications of MEMS and then allowed to explore MEMS in areas of your personal interest.

The contents of this learning module include:

  • Reading Material:  MEMS Applications Overview
  • Presentation: MEMS Applications Overview
  • Activity:  Research a MEMS
  • Final Assessment

There are instructor materials to support this activity and they are available here.
