Movie was generated using Band Structure Lab tool at nanoHUB and allows to scan over four parameters:
- Hole energy measured from the top of the corresponding band (i.e. the origin of energy scales for LH and SOH is different)
- Strain direction: , ,
- Carrier type: LH, HH, SOH
- Strain value
Red lines indicate reciprocal half-vectors in directions (L-points in Brillouin zone).
Scan proceeds as four nested cycles for the variables listed from left to right, i.e. the outermost cycle is over energy, the innermost is over strain. Surfing the movie allows quick search for the desired combination of parameters; then, the hi-resolution file for the same frame number can be extracted from the ZIP file.
Green lines indicate reciprocal half-vectors in directions (X-points in Brillouin zone).
Blue line indicates the direction of applied uniaxial strain.
Blue half-surface is iso-energy surface for unstrained material. Dark-red half-surface is iso-energy surface for uniaxially strained material. Note that the band edges for strained material can differ from the band edge for unstrained one, and therefore the energy scales for blue and red surfaces have different offsets.
The frame number in the low-right corner is included in the file name of the same frame with higher resolution ("InAs_BandStructure_vs_Strain.zip" contains hi-resolution images of all frames in this movie).
